Day 128 - Welcome to Italy - Amitrano in Bianco Rosso e Verdone

Today I'm heading south by car and I can't stop thinking about this movie.

It's an evergreen from Verdone!

Day 127 - North & South

North & South do not exist. Or at least, they do exist but they are not absolute. They all depend.

What do I mean?
Well, I was born in the north (of Italy) and always considered myself as from the north (in a good way). Then I discovered I was from the south (of Europe) by living northern.

When I was in the south of Italy I was always perceived as the one from the north. Right, until I was saying that I've been living far southern than they did (in South America). So they were from the north for me.

Well, this is just to say that it all depends on what point of view you're taking, and remember don't just stuck with a definition, because you might be wrong and not knowing it!

Day 126 - Where The Hell Is Napoli? Viral Video By The Jackal

Do you know the video "Where the hell is Matt", the one with 38M views?
Well, if you know it, you'll kinda recognize this is quite inspired from it.
The idea though is good and is virality is actually following the same trend.

The Jackal, a indi production company from Naples, created this video to promote a cleaner image for Naples. There's trash, it's true, but people should fight it all together.

Day 125 - MD (Movie Day) Invictus

Nelson Mandela is an iconic figure of this century. Everyone knows his name and his dream. Probably people don't know too much about his story.

This movie gives you a flavor of where Mandela is coming from and what he did, together with his great leadership skills.

Besides this positive story, I didn't like the movie. I found it slow, basic and I wasn't really expecting this from Clint Eastwood. I liked almost all his movies and they always have something great to be remembered of. Not this time unfortunately.

Day 124 - Even In Italy Somebody Talks About Gap Year

Incredible!
The sabbatical, or gap year, has always been a tabu in Italy.

Yes, weird, I know. But if you were born and lived all your life in Italy you would most probably think that if you're on a sabbatical either you're actually fired but you don't dare to say it or you're not willing to work. No matter what, you're bad.

Well, for the first time I see that in my favorite Italian newspaper (www.corriere.it) there was an article talking about it. And yes, in a positive way. It's talking about multinational companies willing to support a gap year for their employees. Having Italian companies to support it would be too exaggerate, so, don't dare! :-/

Anyway, I consider it a positive first step!
Who knows if in 10 years everyone would think that good professional might decide to take time off to do whatever comes to his/her mind to get a better person and then start fresh again.

Whenever this will happen I'll remember of this post, and of my first Gap Year ever, which is the best decision I could actually take.
There's a right time for everything in life. This is my time for my Gap Year.

Day 122 - Why Should You Get Angry?

Anger just make your day worse.
Something went wrong? Well, fix it, ask for help or just sit down, if you can't fix it.
If you get angry for everything that happen, well you don't have enough time to be happy.
And happiness matters.
This is my learning of the day.

Day 119 - F&H Fish & Cous Cous "Alla Trapanese"

Day 118 - Are You Happy?

Do you ask yourself if you're happy?
I asked this question to a few people, some were smiling so much that made me happy too, some others looked at me like a fool.
I guess they never asked themselves if they were, or they just weren't happy. I don't know.
But I think it's important we ask ourselves from time to time: "Am I happy?"

Day 117 - MD (Movie Day) Barney's Version

Yesterday I went to a Cine Matinee to watch Barney's Version. I love cine matinee.
At 10.45 watching a Original Version of the movie in Frankfurt, can you imagine how many people were there? Me ;)
The whole cinema just for me. Great !!! :)

I really liked the movie. Acting is great, casting wonderful, music, story, picture.
I really recommend it!

Day 116 - Change Is Easier Than We Think! From Matt Cutts Ted's Talk

Change always look impossible and scary. It's not. It might be opening up a new world of nice things, not just bad things. People are scared of change in the same way they are scared of thinking big. Yes, you can fall, but once you fall down, you can stand up again and in a better and easier way, and the next time you won't fall down again for the same thing.

If we think about change, we think about something big. But sometimes it could be much smaller and then lead to something big.

Look at Matt Cutts' speech at the Ted Conference. You're realize that we can change small things in 30 days and this will be our way to discover how far we can go.

Day 115 - The Right To Take It Easy ;)

Hey guys,

sorry for disappearing.

I took some time off from writing. I think it was worth it, I needed to focus on other things and to think as well :). So, I decided to use my right to take it easy and not to write for a while.

I think that many times we don't consider that we've the right to take it easy. We just run because we've to run. Stopping and rethinking is sometimes complex and we just forget about it.

So, my learning of the day is: we've the right to take it easy. We've been running already and will be running in the future. So, if we wanna stop for a short while, let's just do it!
